Mark Zuckerberg: A Perfect CEO?

I was looking for information about Facebook's hiring strategy and work environment when I found this article on Lifehack (recommended by Charles in this post):
10 Reasons Why 99% of Facebook Employees Love Mark Zuckerberg
Zuckerberg's fantastic results at the approval rating seem to result from his commitment in the everyday issues of the company and his availability for any employee who wants to expose an ambitious project. Once again, the "figure" Mark Zuckerberg's could be an interesting topic of conversation this evening!

Russell Foster: Why do we sleep?

Russell Foster is a circadian neuroscientist: He studies the sleep cycles of the brain. And he asks: What do we know about sleep? Not a lot, it turns out, for something we do with one-third of our lives. In this talk, Foster shares three popular theories about why we sleep, busts some myths about how much sleep we need at different ages -- and hints at some bold new uses of sleep as a predictor of mental health.

Facebook vs Google best employer - Business Insider

Facebook vs Google best employer - Business Insider:

"These Charts Prove Facebook Is A Better Place To Work Than Google"

Since David Bizer isn't available and Marisa at LinkedIn in London will be in a meeting in Dublin, I contacted Clement Genzmer who has been at FaceBook as a software engineer for the last 5 years...  he'll be able to give us an inside view of life at FB!

A while back he was a participant in the professional communications class here at Telecom... and he'll be happy to skype with us for about 30 minutes in the second part of our class next Monday and to answer your questions.... (It'll be almost 9 in the morning for him!)

Charles will do his presentation first but you should already begin to brainstorm some good questions to ask Clement...

You might want to look at Clement's LinkedIn as well. (hint, hint).

Have a good weekend. TGIF.

And see you on Monday for our last class!

Deep Learning... hear all about it... and here and here... see below!

(And from my former student Antoine B:

"Just for information, I worked in the deep learning community which is an area of the machine learning field. In a scientific conference in Montreal last December, all the professors that are working together to make this science progress were gathered in this image, from left to right : - Yann lecun : head of Facebook's new Artificial Intelligence laboratory since 08\14 (an article here) and professor at NYU,

 - Geoffrey Hinton : work at Google since 03\13 (an article here) and University of Toronto,

 - Yoshu Bengio : my supervisor at Udem (Université de Montreal) during my internship, the only one that is still entirely dedicated to academic,

 - Andrew Ng :  Chief Scientist at Baidu (the chinese google) Research in Silicon Valley since 07\14 (an article here), and professor at Standford University.)  )

Lifehack - How to improve your life

Good News Everyone ;)

I've just discovered an amazing website called Lifehack .

It's an amazing site full of articles that help you improve your life.

There are different categories, such as Communication, Lifestyle, Money, Tech, etc....

Just pick an article that interests you and start reading ;)

I  read some and i found the ideas explained in each article very helpful and meaningful. For example i just read an article about How to stop being lazy all the time. It was explained that they are different kind of laziness, that comes from different inner problems we have we should defeat.

Try it and see if there is an article taht entertain you ;)
